Four Implants
Only four titanium implants are used to anchor a full denture. The implants serve as “columns” that hold up the “roof” or the dentures. The two front implants are placed like usual, while the two implants at the back are placed at a 45-degree angle. This strategic position takes advantage of existing bone without the need for bone grafts. It also avoids the nerves in the lower jaw and the sinus cavity in the upper jaw.
During consultation, Dr. Receveur will examine your mouth and jaw (may involve x-rays and CT scans) to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Your dentist will also take mouth impressions to help design the permanent denture.
Once you get the all-clear, Dr. Receveur will remove any remaining teeth, place the implants and attach the dentures on top—all on the same day.
