I just did not want to smile. I did not smile for years. It was embarrassing. My teeth were gray, they were chipped, I was in pain, and that was a big part of that pain, the pain that I had can cause anxiety, you know? It's great not having to know I have to go to all different places to get anything done anymore. It's all here. It's his promise, and I woke up and I had teeth. I would have not gone anywhere without teeth. I am so happy about the lifetime warranty. That means a lot. I thought that there would be pain because I am getting my teeth extracted and I was getting the implants put it. I was in so much pain with my old teeth, and now I just feel so much better. I don't have pain. There were things that I did want to eat but I knew I couldn't eat. So I did go with a lot of soup, a lot of soft food, mashed potatoes. I can eat steak, pork chops, I can eat my apples – anything I want to eat. I can eat anything. I can't quit smiling. I cannot quit smiling, my teeth are so beautiful now, and I am so pleased with the results. They're beautiful.
I can't put a price on my happiness, I can't put a price on my smile. I mean, going home and my daughter being 14 years old now, going, "Dad, you've got teeth." I can't put a price on that. I eat steak a lot, I eat chicken, fish, and I really don't have to worry about it, corn on the cob is now a new favorite for me. Missing a front tooth and four or five teeth on the side of my face, corn on the cob wasn't an option. You have to sit there with a knife and cut it off the cob and everything. I mean it's a summer-time favorite. But the day of my surgery, I remember having chocolate pudding for dinner. The day after, I was eating country-fried steak, there was no pain. I remember that night going to the bathroom and I just stared in the mirror, it was almost a tearful experience for me 'cause I'd been so long without teeth that I was just sitting there staring at 'em going, "Wow, look how much different this looks." Well, it makes me feel really confident in my investment, knowing that I'm not gonna have to go back and possibly have to pay for one of those implants to be fixed. So I mean, knowing that I have a warranty on it and that I don't have to worry about them if something happens, is a lot more worth it to me. When I hear people tell me, "Oh, you know, I've got a tooth missing and I need to go to the dentist but I'm scared of the dentist." I tell her about Doctor Brad and Doctor Receveur, I'm like, "You know, it's at the office totally different." I'm like, "You know, I'm so happy I went because I used to be the person that I was scared to come in the door, and I can't be happier, I'm telling you."
Oh, my teeth were, I couldn't chew very well. I had basically chewing in the front, and then those upper teeth weren't that strong anyway from the gum diseases and stuff. And I was just happy as hell. I mean, I can chew good now. Before I used to have to eat a little lighter and all that, now I can eat as heavy as I want. I used to like a lot of salads and all that. Believe it or not, chewing salad up is a little tough, and I can do that now. Well, my largest motivation was to be able to eat, 'cause I love eating. My feeling was that if you can't live life after you've retired to some extent, happily, you know, there's no sense in living. You need to go out and live, and that's the reason I felt that I needed to get that done, and I'm glad I did because it has improved my life. Now, I feel real good. I wish I would've done this probably 10 years ago. If I didn't have the money 15 to 20 years ago and I could've got this done, I would've done a payment plan. What caught my eye was the lifetime guarantee. That was my seller right there. That was another selling point for me, that I didn't have to run around. This was … the whole ball of wax was good here.
Having so many bad past experiences made me not trust any dentist. Until I met Dr. Receveur. Dr. Receveur – I love him to pieces. He is a perfectionist. He does incredible, beautiful work. He is very kind. He is not judgmental at all. He's funny. And it is an absolute joy and a pleasure coming here every single time. When I came to Dr. Receveur to get my dental work done, he told me that I could do IV sedation, which scared me more than getting the dental work done, the actual dental work done. And eventually, I just trusted Dr. Receveur. It was nothing like I thought, nothing like the videos I watched. It was so easy. So painless. I would do it a million times over. I wish that I had done it years ago. It is the easiest experience I have ever had in dentistry. Knowing that I have a lifetime warranty on my implants is amazing. I do have friends that have gotten implants at other places, and they have failed. And there was no warranty on 'em. Coming here puts all of your fears to rest. All of 'em. I would encourage anybody if you're, if you have any dental work to be done, come see Dr. Receveur.
I hated the dentures. I hated everything about the dentures. I hated the glue, I hated the cleaning, I couldn't talk, I couldn't eat. I couldn't even wear the bottom plate. So, the only thing I was eating was peanut butter sandwiches and mashed potatoes so it was miserable. I saw Dr. Receveur's infomercial and I said, "Wow, I should have investigated a little bit more." So, I called the next day and made an appointment. My wife and I came in for a consultation and I probably hadn't listened to Dr. Receveur more than 10 minutes and I said, "This is where I need to be." I sensed his passion for what he does and that totally impressed me. So, we made the appointment that day and that was indeed one of the best decisions I've ever made. I mean, I had immediate trust with Dr. Receveur. You spend five minutes with him and you're going to feel at ease because of his manner, his wisdom, his insight and his compassion. There was much more pain when I went to the dentist for the dentures than there was when Dr. Receveur was doing his job. I really had no pain. He gave me pain pills to take home. I don't think I took any of them. I don't think I needed any of those. The dentures as I said was one of the worst decisions I ever made. I hated the glue. I hated the cleaning. I hated the fact that I couldn't taste my food. I hated the fact of taking them out every night, putting them back in in the morning. It almost seemed like this was someone else doing this. It just was not me that surely to goodness I don't have dentures but I did. Having my implants, it's almost like having my own teeth. I mean, I eat what I want, drink what I want. I brush my teeth at night, in the mornings, and it's like having real teeth again. It's, there's no comparison between implants and dentures. None. You see the same people every week. You don't have to find other people or drive here and drive there. Having everything in one spot was just absolutely, it couldn't have been more convenient. The lifetime warranty is a wonderful thing. I'm really glad that that's not something I have to worry about, that Dr. Receveur has given me that lifetime warranty.
I had been to quite a few dentists in Louisville, and I was told that everything would be … one dentist would do the extractions and the implants, and then I'd have to wait three months and go to a different dentist and start getting teeth. It just was never anything I felt like I could live with.
It was amazing, I mean I just, I had been through so much with my dental problems for most of my life, and to think I could come in and in four hours, three or four hours, walk out with teeth in my mouth, it was just ecstatic, just absolutely ecstatic. I was very surprised when Dr. Receveur looked at all my X-rays and said that I could have implants after being told that I was not a candidate. I'd been told that I didn't have the bone structure to support 'em. And when he looked at my X-rays and he said, “Yes, you know, you're a candidate,” I was just like, How in the world can one dentist do all of this when so many could not even do a fourth of what he was saying could be done? This one dentist said if he did ‘em, he wouldn't even know how long they would last. As many years as I spent, like I said, with teeth just coming out with the Waterpik or whatever, when you realize that there's a lifetime warranty with it, that made it even more worth the money. To know that I've got this backup is everything and makes the money and the cost of it, and the time, all that much more worthwhile. You can't ask for any more than that. You don't get that anywhere in the medical field.
My fear was not so much of the dentist at that point, because I had spent so much time seated in the chair. It was the fear of, what you're doing's not gonna work, is it? And since the procedure I've had here, I mean, are you kidding me, I mean, it's been perfect. Knowing that it's the one-stop shopping, smile in a day, so to speak. It was like, that was done. 'cause no one else I talked to offered that, no one. Anyone's never had a problem with their smile they won't understand. So you go in public and hide with your hands and you try not to laugh really big laughs 'cause you show off all your teeth. I even catch myself sometimes going, "Oh cool, my smile looks good. I can smile, I can laugh." For me it was just a total change. It was a good feeling, knowing that when I talked to him that he'd talk about the lifetime warranty. It's a big investment, and you want to feel that investment, your investment's being backed up with people that believe in what they do. It's been the best thing I've ever done. I mean, I wished I had done it when this first started. Just taking the bath, and didn't finish with it. 'cause I mean, it's not only changed how dentally, how I feel, but it changes your diet. And there was some healthy foods that I really just avoided because of dental problems. I mean, I liked broccoli but you know what it's like to eat broccoli when you have holes and cracks and things in your teeth that you have to pick and dig. So it's been a health, it's been a lifestyle change too for me. So I feel better, I love my smile. So, it's just all round been a good decision, I don't regret, I've never regretted it.
My entire adult life, I've had teeth that chipped and broke, and I spent most of my life, I think, in dentist offices, you know, with work being done. And as I was getting to the point of, close to retirement, I knew that I wanted to get it all done. And I had heard so many good things about this office that I thought, well, I wanted to get my smile back, if you will, and just get it taken care of. The months ahead of coming to Dr. Receveur and Dr. Frederick's office, I had contemplated getting something done for a long time. I knew that I was so self-conscious of my broken teeth and the struggles that I was having with constant repair. I wanted to get it done. I didn't like the idea of, “Well, we got an appointment for you over here to get this done or an appointment over here.” I wanted it all in one place.
And you know, coming here of course, I felt like I was coming to family. He gave me a good idea of what could be done and how long it would take and the process, and people said, “Wow, what a smile.” To see that again, and it is something when you have a broken tooth or something that is chipped or whatever, you're self-conscious, and I was. That makes it difficult when you're up in front of the public, you know, to try to get by, trying to be natural when it's, you know, you're very self-conscious. If it is affecting your daily life, then get it done, you know, because it makes a big difference in your whole freedom of interaction with people. You don't worry about what your teeth look like, it's done. The lifetime warranty on those implants was significant because I knew that that's not going to be an expense I'm gonna have again. To know that that has been taken care of, that I don't have to worry about coming back in years down the pike if something goes wrong, if something, you know, breaks or whatever, that it's taken care of. But I definitely have no trouble eating anything, you know, and that’s … and I like to eat, yeah.
I had four different sets of teeth. None of 'em ever fit right ever. I couldn't even wear 'em, I had blisters on my gums and I had, well, where I just wouldn't wear 'em. I couldn't enjoy any solid foods, no salads. Everything was soft foods. Get tired of it. After I saw Doctor Receveur, and I went through, I come to the meeting first, they had that, I seen that in the paper on a Sunday, the advertisement. I came and listened to the other testimonies from other people that was here and that did it for me, to know that I can have the implants. Lot of times they gotta send you out to get this done, send you out to get that done, and that was one of the things I read, everything be done in one place. That was really a seal for me, too. Doctor Receveur, he gave me more implants that work 'cause I didn't know how many I need anyway. He chose to give me six implants which worked out great. And have no regrets about it. When Doctor Receveur told me this would not hurt, I knew that he was gonna, Doctor Receveur was gonna do a good job. You know, and it didn't, it did not. I never had a day of pain. Never. When you come in here, you gonna' get what you pay for and he does an excellent job. I mean, even my bottom teeth, they’re perfect. I had never had nobody do that for me, you know. They are perfect now. And I love my implants. I wouldn't have it no other way. When I want to eat, I can eat now. I can go out to eat. I couldn't go out to eat before. I can go out and have a salad and have, you know, a decent meal. There's no amount of money that compares to not being able to enjoy life, your food, just going out. Before, I just, I wouldn't tell nobody. Where I got teeth at, I, you know, that wasn't. But now, I mean, everybody, I tell everybody that, hey, if you gonna, if you gonna get teeth... Like I say I didn't have, had no pain. People talking about "I'm scared of," you know, of fear of this, and fear of that. I said I never had pain in one. Never. That was really a thing too. That was another thing. He was so gentle. But my overall experience has been great. Been real great.
Most of my life going to the dentist has been painful where they would inject me with a numbing medication didn't work. I suffered through it. Eventually as I got older I just stopped going to the dentist. I waited about 10 years, went back to the dentist. Tried to numb me again, didn't work. So, I said enough, I don't, don't numb me up. It doesn't work, so I dealt with it. Then I stayed away from the dentist another several years. Went back because I was having some sensitivity and went to a dentist. They did the cleaning and so forth and said, “Oh, you've got two fractured teeth. We're gonna have to do something.” And I went, “No way.” That's when I started researching to find someone that could help me out of the pain. So, I researched and I found Dr. Receveur. I actually got on Facebook and talked to some friends and found out that several people that I know have been to Dr. Receveur, loved him. I decided to make the call and that's when I made the call over here and came in and I was just pleasantly surprised, really surprised. Dr. Receveur came in and oh my goodness, he's full of life. He seems to love what he does. It just blew me away because he was very understanding. He listened to me. He did not try to talk over me. He listened to every question that I had. He answered every question that I had. Everyone that I met was very accommodating and very, they just took the time to listen to me. I think that was the main thing is that I felt like every dentist I've ever been to, “Oh, you'll be fine. Oh, you'll be fine.” And they really didn't listen or I don't think they understood where I was coming from. And I felt like when I came here, everybody understood where I was coming from and I wasn't judged. I am blown away. The results have been wonderful. I slept through the whole procedure and I had no pain. I would recommend highly Dr. Receveur and the IV sedation. He's brilliant. For me it's the only way I could have ever gotten through the work that I had to have done. It was painless. Dr. Receveur was, again, always comforting me, always asking, “Are you okay?” It's awesome to be able to know that I've got this to fall back on. I can go to Dr. Receveur and I don't have to worry about pain. I don't have to cringe at the thought of a dentist visit. It just isn't there anymore. I don't have it. I know I can come here and I'll be treated with dignity. I'll be treated, I'll be comforted and I know that I can trust Dr. Receveur. And I did not, I could not say that about any dentist in the past. It was definitely worth every penny that I spent coming here. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Larry Shuffett If one doctor was responsible for everything, that would ensure excellent results
Growing up and as an adult, I never had good-looking teeth. They were crooked, they were chipped from sports, and they were always less than comfortable, I guess. What really occurred was, is I learned how to smile without showing my teeth. When age and discomfort created a situation where I knew I had to make a change, I decided that that change was going to be very positive. I knew that I did not want regular dentures. I knew what I wanted were implants. So I set about trying to find the best dentist, doing his own implant work, in the greater Louisville area. I found Dr. Receveur.
One of the things that was really important to me, whenever I was ascertaining who was the best dentist to do my implants, was that they were responsible for everything. In the sense that the prothesis, the implants, literally everything – it made no difference what it was – was going to be done in one location. And more importantly, that dentist was responsible for that. That told me that the person had confidence in what they were doing. It made it more convenient, but maybe more important, it ensured excellent results. In Dr. Receveur, I found someone who truly believed in what he was doing, was excited about the fact that he could, in fact, make people's mouths look wonderfully better. And he was enthused even further by the fact that he could do it without having any pain for his patients. In fact, whenever I think about Dr. Ron and his staff, I think one of the things that really strikes me is that it's obvious that they take a great deal of satisfaction from being able to provide all of these services and make people's lives better. In my case, that's absolutely the truth. My mouth functions better today than it ever has. These teeth are better than the ones I was born with. I eat better and I chew better. Maybe just as important, my wife says that I smile and laugh more than I ever have. She likes that, so do I. It is wonderful to be able to smile and know that your teeth look good. I love my smile, I really do.
I just love Dr. Receveur and everybody that works for him. I was told by three dentists that I could not have implants, and he was the one that said, "Yes, you can." And I am just absolutely thrilled with his work. After having the All-in-4®, I eat what I want, I say what I want to, I can even talk plainer now. And I don't have to worry about losing my bottom plate. It didn't hurt at all. It's been a process, of course, you have to go through different processes, but none of 'em have hurt. It's worth it.
If you value your health and your welfare and you want to live a long life, you better have something like that done. I was so upset because every time I would eat something, I'd have to put in more glue to hold my teeth in. I couldn't eat apples. I couldn't bite into an apple. I couldn't eat anything that was juicy because it would loosen up the goo in my teeth. And I'm just so happy that I can go out with my friends and eat and have a good time and laugh without my teeth falling out. And I do a lot of laughin'.
What I love about the office is I was very nervous about going to the dentist over the years. After the first visit, it was like coming home, family. Everybody was really nice, took their time and explained everything to me. It make me comfortable. I'd had trouble with my teeth my whole life and spent a lot of money. Crowns, veneers, you name it. And just kinda got fed up with the whole routine of every year, something different. And I was just looking for something that was functionable and had teeth, that I could smile. Dr. Receveur explained many options, gave me different opportunities, different prices. And he opened the door to many different things and helped me select what was best for me. The first day I arrived, the doctor, Dr. Receveur, that did my work actually took the time to sit as long as I wanted, explained everything to me, assured me that it would be good. And I liked the crew here, just special, nice. They just really took their time here and did it right, and just been very good. It's been very good to me, I like it.
Well, I had a primary dentist. And he couldn't do everything that needed to be done. In Dr. Receveur, you can get it all done in one spot. I just had a lot of crowns that were old, and they were wearing out and breaking off, so something needed to be done. I had experience with elderly relatives having teeth either that they couldn't wear or teeth that were loose and floppy. And that's what I absolutely didn't want. I've chosen to have the implants, which is a permanent. I favored that over full set of false teeth. I didn't want the in-and-out, I didn't want the partials. In this case, those babies are in there for good. You do your comparisons of cost of their alternatives, and I chose with a lot of thought. I chose to go – it was a more expensive route, but I chose to go with that because of the permanence. The fact that he had the lifetime warranty was a big factor in my decision. I feel like it's gonna be money well spent over the years, the rest of my life. Dr. Receveur is very meticulous. He's very much a perfectionist. There's not gonna be any halfways or almost; almost isn't good enough. It's either perfect or it's not gonna get done. He's gonna make it perfect. He just not satisfied with anything less than perfect. That's my impression of him, and that's what I have seen so far as he's been working on my teeth.
I don't particularly care for teeth that you can pull out of your mouth, or they can accidentally fall out. I would rather have something permanent that I have security in, that when people are looking at me, my teeth don't fall out, and I can eat well and everything else. I had a bridge originally that was attached to a tooth that went bad. Well, consequently, a new bridge couldn't be made, so the idea of implants was suggested to me. And I agreed to that because I figured, well, those are permanent and lifetime teeth, and if they look good, I was ready. So that's how I ended up getting implants. All-on-4® implant.
If you wanna be able to chew the rest of your life, and if you wanna be able to have a nice smile, and if you want people to look at you, say "Hey, I like your teeth,” it's a lot of money, but it's good money spent, it's spent really well. I wouldn't have considered eating apples, corn on the cob, steak, anything that could suck the teeth out or break them, anything hard, nuts. I wouldn't have eaten those. I can eat all of that now. I don't have to worry about any difficulties with the teeth or anything falling out. I can bite into foods that are usually rough to eat with just a plain bridge, so I'm happy with that.
I would recommend anyone to come to Dr. Ron Receveur's for their dental implants, 'cause he does a great job. He guarantees it, and you will feel great afterwards.
