New Albany Dental Office uses CT Scan For Immediate Evaluation, Treatment Plans

Have you ever been to the doctor and been told you needed a CT scan? If so, it’s likely you had to schedule a visit to the nearest hospital, adding time and stress to what should have been an easier procedure.

At New Albany Implants, we don’t ask our patients to seek treatment elsewhere. We want to handle your care from start to finish. Our Galileos 3D CAT Scan can give us instant images of your mouth, neck, jaw, and oral cavity. There’s no need to run all over town for your treatment – or to spend another two hours away from work visiting a hospital or expert. We can give you a reliable and safe scan without any hassle.

The Galileos is a revolutionary tool that provides low-radiation, accurate images of your mouth. In our office, not only can this machine give you a 3D image of your mouth, it also assists Dr. Receveur in placing your dental implants.

Because the Galileos is so precise, it takes out all of the guess work in dentistry. No longer do we have to approximate where to place a dental implant. With our Galileos, we can now see jaw bone density and even the tiniest nerves and blood vessels, allowing us to place your dental implants in the exact location they need to be – down to the millimeter. Dr. Receveur placed 500 dental implants last year – several of which were One Day Smile Solution patients – and mapped out each of those complexed procedures with the Galileos.

Our Galileos CAT Scan machine may actually be one of the first things you see when you walk in our office for your initial visit. With just one scan, we can learn about your oral health history, dental needs and then begin planning out your treatment. We even use the Galileos as a diagnostic tool to scan for possible abscessed teeth, tumors and other irregularities in the mouth.

Here’s how our 3D scan works: Once you come to our office, you are greeted by our friendly staff. Before we even begin any treatment or cleaning, we take a scan of your neck, jaw, and oral cavity. The scan is comfortable and uses 10 percent of the radiation of traditional X-rays. You can stand and relax your chin comfortably on a stand while the scanner rotates around your head. The entire scan takes about 20 seconds to complete. Immediately after the scan, you will be able to see the results and follow along as Dr. Receveur reviews the images.

Not only has the 3D scan aided us in our precision, but it’s an incredible teaching tool. Patients can sit by while Dr. Receveur explains procedures. You’d be amazed at how well patients absorb the information when they’re looking at clear 3D images, instead of cloudy X-rays.

If you have complicated dental needs or simply just need a good dentist, call us today to learn more about our 3D imaging and technology. Dr. Receveur has one of the only Galileos CAT Scan machines in Southern Indiana, and his staff has always worked to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry. Schedule your visit today.
