For patients who are serious about truly pain-free dentistry, IV Sedation is the only method that can guarantee your comfort. Nitrous Oxide and Oral Sedation are lighter forms of sedation that will NOT guarantee that you will have no memory of your procedure. If you want to know more about the levels of sedation, you can download my book on sedation below.
When we are treating patients who are scared or anxious about their dental implant procedure, we offer them IV Sedation. Our technique is a nice combination that uses both Oral and IV Sedation for the comfort of our patients. The night before treatment, we often give our patients a mild sedative to assist them in getting a good night’s sleep. A good night’s sleep the night before reduces our patients’ anxiety, making this whole process more comfortable.
Before we begin your procedure, we will start your IV Sedation, which will keep you very comfortable during your treatment. You won’t remember a thing about your dental implant procedure! You will not feel any pain or hear, smell, or taste anything.
Sedation completely removes anxiety and relaxes you, allowing your smile to be restored quickly and efficiently.
While some procedures have traditionally required 4 to 6 visits to a doctor, IV Sedation often allows the same procedure to be completed within 1 or 2 visits. With IV Sedation, you will have no memory of your procedure. It removes the need to worry about the sights, sounds, or smells.
If you want to know more about sedation, Dr. Receveur has written a book that we are happy to send to you complimentary, “Consumer’s Guide for Oral and IV Sedation Dentistry.” You can also view a copy by clicking here. If you are serious about avoiding pain, this is information you must know.
More important than any technical information, rest assured that Dr. Receveur and his staff put a tremendous amount of energy into what they do and take pride in what they do … which ensures a pain-free experience for you!
