You Shouldn’t Feel Bad About Wanting Better Oral Health

We wish we could tell you that every dental professional treated every patient with compassion. The truth is we’ve had many patients come to us after years of avoiding professional oral care.

Their old dentist seemed unsympathetic. Instead of offering support, he or she was critical of patients whose teeth weren’t perfect. As a result, he or she did more to make the patient feel bad than to lift them up.

You don’t have to feel that way when you come to the dentist. In fact, you shouldn’t feel bad for seeking dental care whether you are seeking preventive care or full-mouth reconstruction.

At New Albany Implants, we want you to feel comfortable during every visit to our dentist office. That includes working with you to solve problems rather than making your feel guilty for having issues.

Call us today at (812) 945-7645, contact us online, or visit us in person at our dentist office in New Albany, IN, to learn more about our approach to patient care.

You Are More Than Just Your Smile

When you come to a dentist office, you should be treated like a person, not just another set of teeth.

Yes, we want to do everything we can to keep your mouth healthy, but you should be treated like an individual while you are here, too. That means more than sitting you down in a chair, shining a light in your face, and poking at your teeth.

When Dr. Ron Receveur started his own practice, he wanted to make sure his patients would be as comfortable as possible.

As you may already know from your experience with another dentist, when you are uncomfortable, you can become anxious or even fearful of receiving the dental care that you need. When you are anxious or fearful, you may decide to avoid the dentist entirely.

In your mind, you know that you want to have a healthy smile, but you also want to know that people treating you see you as an individual.

You may feel more comfortable with a blanket to keep you cozy during your dental cleaning. The next patient may want a pillow and a bottle of water. Another patient may prefer to watch a movie throughout his or her visit. Yet another patient may want or need all of those things to feel relaxed in a dentist chair.

And that’s OK with all of us at New Albany Implants.

Building Relationships Makes Dental Care Better

We have found that we can provide better care for our patients when our patients know that we care about them.

When Dr. Ron decided to go into dentistry, he drew on his own experiences as a child. He was born with a partial cleft palate. As a result, it’s fair to say that he spent more time in a dentist’s chair than most people.

This shaped his passion for studying the best dental solutions, such as dental implants, so he could provide solutions for problems that affect countless people.

It’s also why he wanted to create a dentist office where every patient could feel welcome and where every patient could relax. That starts by getting to know you and understanding what we can do to make dental care easier for you.

Our goal is to work with each patient to help them feel great about their smiles.

Keeping You Comfortable

Earlier we mentioned some of the comfort options that we offer at our practice.

For many people, a blanket, a pillow, a movie, and the genuine concern of our staff is enough to feel relaxed during their dental care. For others, sedation dentistry is a better option.

Dr. Ron is one of the few dentists who has completed the necessary training and certification to be able to offer three levels of dental sedation. This includes IV sedation.

IV sedation can help even the most anxious patients stay calm throughout any dental procedure. This has the benefit of taking effect quickly and being adjustable during your treatment to keep you pain-free and worry-free.

It’s helped more patients than we could possibly mention receive the dental care they needed to improve the appearance of their smiles and the function of their teeth.
