The Problem with Conventional Dentures
The number of people with missing teeth is staggering. In the United States alone, around 27% of people age 65 and above are missing all of their natural teeth. According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, people age 50 to 64 usually have only 22 out of 28 of their natural teeth, and 10% of these people have no teeth at all. Sadly, the majority of these people are still using conventional dentures. This solution may be acceptable, but they fall way behind the more up-to-date treatments like dental implants. Implant treatments have been around for the past four decades, but only 3% of patients missing all their natural teeth get them. Conventional dentures may lead to different problems, ranging from discomfort and pain to a less effective sense of taste. Dental implants may provide the same benefits conventional dentures do, without the unwanted side effects.
Strong Dental Implants
Implants are small titanium screws used as the base for dental restorations. Titanium’s unique properties allow standard implants to osseointegrate, or fuse, with your jawbone over a period of two to six months. This makes restorations mounted on implants permanent, and almost natural, parts of your mouth. Standard implants are about 3.5mm to 6mm in diameter, and 10mm to 16mm in length. They require a specific amount of bone mass to fuse with, which used to be problematic for patients with lower bone density. These patients had to make do without implants, or undergo bone grafting procedures. And while it takes time to create your final restoration, we can fit your implants with temporary teeth the same day!
The One Day Smile Solution
Do you need multiple teeth replaced? Our One Day Smile Solution involves using four implants to support four to twelve individual restorations. This is ideal for people missing an entire row of teeth, or those who have no remaining teeth at all.
