Limiting Your Diet Is Not Okay!

Here at New Albany Implants, we are looking forward to starting that grill out on the deck! We can’t wait to invite friends and family over for barbecues and parties, just as soon as we can kick this winter weather! There’s nothing better than a thick, juicy steak right off the grill! That is, of course, if your teeth allow you to enjoy such a thing. Our clients tell us that they are on a limited diet due to their dentures or unhealthy teeth. We have one thing to say to that: Stop doing that to yourself! It is never ok to settle for a mediocre diet due to your teeth.

Only limit your diet if you doctor recommends that you do so, for controlling cholesterol, heart disease, or diabetes. Your teeth should not dictate your diet. When patients choose foods that are easy to eat, they generally start eating a lot of carbs and sugars that are really bad for overall health. They lose fresh veggies and fruits. They lose protein-rich meat. Dr. Mayo (of the Mayo Clinic) guesses that denture wearers lose an average of about 10 years from their life because of poor nutrition.

What Can I Do, Dr. Ron? I Can’t Chew!

Look no further! At New Albany Implants, we have a solution for you! If you are missing a few of your teeth, but still have plenty of healthy teeth, we might recommend dental implants to fill in your missing teeth! This will even out your bite and make chewing more comfortable. If you have had a complete loss of teeth, we would recommend stabilizing your dentures with implants or investing in a complete implant restoration called the One Day Smile Solution, which would be a more natural-feeling solution.

Contact us as soon as possible! In one visit, we can take images of your mouth and provide you with a detailed explanation of your options for dental restoration. We recommend that you bring someone with you as an extra ear to help you decide. We’ll even send you home with our book so that you can read through the options when you get home. Whatever you decide, we want you to be comfortable eating whatever your heart (or stomach) desires!
