Dentistry For Those With Special Needs

If you have family members with medical issues or special needs, it’s important to find the right dentist. While all of us have different dental needs, we all need a dental professional in our lives. At New Albany Implants we understand that no patient is the same as the last, and we work to provide a calm and comfortable environment for everyone seeking our professional care.

Our office is able to treat patients with special needs as well as those who are medically unable to visit our New Albany practice. Dr. Receveur has found that his sedation dentistry allows patients with special needs to have a hassle-free visit to the dentist.

Treating special needs
We commonly see patients with physical, developmental and medical special needs in our office. Some of our patients with developmental special needs have fears about brushing and flossing their teeth. We can work with the family in order to provide helpful tips and an oral health care plan that will maintain your loved one’s smile. For those patients with developmental special needs, sitting in a dentist chair can be an intimidating experience. If a special need limits the patient’s tolerance of the dental chair, we can provide sedation dentistry to relax them during the procedure. By using IV sedation, also known as sleep sedation, we can complete multiple treatments without the patient having to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the procedures.

Surgery Center
In addition to providing the highest quality of sedation dentistry, Dr. Receveur has privileges at a local surgery center for patients who are medically unable to visit his New Albany dental practice. The surgery center is filled with state-of-the-art operatories, and Dr. Receveur uses a board certified anesthesiologist.
