Your New Albany Dental Office is a No-lecture, No-fear Office

Has it been a while since you’ve been to the dentist? Do you think about picking up the phone and scheduling a visit, but you worry about what the dentist might say? Or maybe you’re simply one of the millions of Americans who has a fear of the dentist.

These are all valid concerns, and unfortunately, ones that can keep your from the dentist. Nobody wants to be lectured about their oral health and to be terrified about visiting the dentist. You want to be helped, not ridiculed.

At New Albany Implants, we are a no-lecture dental office. We see patients every day who have substantial dental health issues – from gum disease to rampant tooth loss. You will not hear a lecture from us about your teeth. We want to make sure you are comfortable and calm during your visits. That’s why we offer a variety of sedation dentistry options. Not only do we offer nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation, but we’re one of the only offices in the Southern Indiana and Louisville area that offers IV sedation.

If you’re not familiar with IV sedation, allow us to explain some of the benefits:

Your New Albany Dentist is Certified in IV Sedation
Not all dentists are certified to provide IV sedation. In fact, the number is quite small. Dr. Receveur has completed thousands of hours in continuing education to provide the best services in dentistry, including IV sedation. IV sedation allows Dr. Receveur to complete multiple treatments in just one visit without the patient having to experience the sights, smells, and sounds of the dental office. He uses IV sedation to place individual dental implants and the One Day Smile Solution for patients missing entire arches of teeth.

How Safe is IV Sedation Dentistry?
This is a question we see a lot. You might be surprised to know that IV sedation is one of the safest forms of sedation. Because it is rendered intravenously – and immediately hits the bloodstream – it’s easier to control than oral conscious sedation. All patients under IV sedation are continuously monitored during their treatment, and the drug is slowly rendered, unlike types of oral conscious sedation. The effects of IV sedation wear off shortly after your visit, but we ask that a friend or family member drive you home.

Multiple Treatments in One Visit
With IV sedation, we can complete multiple procedures in one visit. This is great for people who have not been to the dentist in a while. Even if you have one or two cavities on each quadrant of your mouth, that can take several visits at a typical dental office. At New Albany Implants, we use IV sedation to knock out multiple treatments at once.

Eliminate Your Fear Of the Dentist
In addition to allowing us to complete multiple treatments in one visit, IV sedation is great for patients who have a crippling fear of the dentist. You can come into the office and relax while we complete your dental work. More often than not, patients who could barely walk into our office for their first visit do not even need sedation after visiting our office the first few times. Once those patients interact with Dr. Receveur and our professional staff, they feel much more comfortable and confident about their dental visits.

IV sedation has been a great tool for our office. If you need a full-mouth reconstruction or simply have anxiety about visiting the dentist, call us today and ask about our IV sedation.
