Why A Dental Implant Is Your Best Bet

Welcome to the New Albany Implants blog!

If you are looking for a viable solution to your tooth loss crisis, you have come to the right place. Dr. Receveur knows the firsthand feeling of having something cumbersome and ineffective thrust awkwardly in the place of his real tooth.

You see, he had an artificial tooth during childhood that was anything but helpful. That is why he set out to become an expert in dental implants when they first became available. They really are your best bet, but today we want to explain why that is.

Keep reading to learn more about dental implants, and then be sure to follow up and schedule your consultation in our Southern Indiana office.

The Dental Implant Procedure Explained

Here’s the deal: getting implants is really just a 2 step process.

The good news is that we take care of the entire procedure in-house, which saves you some time, along with any added expense and anxiety that farming part of it out would cause. Honestly, we wouldn’t trust anybody else to handle you with the same care as we would.

First Step

In any event, it all starts with the implant itself.

Our Implants are made of titanium and they are designed to more or less mimic the size and function of a natural tooth root. The first step is for the implant to be surgically inserted and then allowed to fuse with your bone.

Great, so how is it inserted?

As strange as it seems, implants are basically screwed into your jaw, where they are allowed to heal and bond to the bone over a few months before they are fully restored, which brings us to the next step: restoration.

The Half-Step

We don’t want you to think we mean that you will have to go “toothless” in the meantime. Please understand that you will NEVER have to leave our office without teeth. So, in truth there is a half-step worth mentioning. In our office dental implants are all restored with a temporary crown or bridge on the very same day they are placed.

Final Step

Once sufficient healing has taken place you’ll just come back to have your permanent crown or bridge attached to your implant. Then, you’ll be good to go!

You will find that our dental implants are comfortable and fully functional because they disburse force just like your natural teeth would.

You can go back to eating the foods you love, with the people you love. You will look good, feel great, and with any luck you will live longer too.

That’s why you will want to take good care of your implants. They are built to last a lifetime! But you will have to give them the same attention as you would give to real teeth.

Time To Take Back Your Life!

We hope you have been inspired by today’s blog post to take the next step towards a healthier smile. We are ready when you are!

You can trust that you are in good hands with us. The most important credentials we have in this regard are the very real experiences of the patients whose lives have been restored (along with their smiles) by our implants.

That said, not everyone is a good fit. So, we will need to see if dental implants are the right solution for you. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll perform a comprehensive exam that gives us a detailed glimpse of your teeth and bone so that we can plot out your treatment. Then, we’ll make it happen, if you are a good candidate.
