When you walk into a doctor’s office, who is in charge? If you’ve been seeing a “bossy” dentist, maybe it’s time to rethink things. The moment that you no longer feel comfortable voicing your opinion is the moment you should walk out the door. Sometimes dentists get so caught up in providing care and believing that they know what’s best for the patient, that they forget that the patient is the one living with the treatment or restoration. At New Albany Implants, we believe in offering you choice whenever we can.
We want you to walk out of our office knowing that you made the best decision for your teeth. Our job is to provide you with those options and help you figure out which one is best, but we do that by considering your thoughts and opinions. We don’t choose our patient’s treatments, they choose treatments they’d like for us to perform. That’s not to say that we would do anything for anyone: your health is our number one concern, which means we wouldn’t do anything that would endanger your long term well-being.
A Typical Visit
You can test this by coming in for a consult. We usually begin with an exam and by taking dental images using our 3D CT scan machine. Within a short visit, Dr. Ron can examine your images and come up with some options for your mouth. In that same day, you will sit down with Dr. Ron to discuss your future dental care. Sometimes there are so many options, that it’s too much to remember! That’s why we offer you a short book which will explain all of your options.
When you leave our office, you’ll be an informed and empowered patient who can make the best decision possible for the health of your smile. Don’t let someone push you into a dental procedure that you don’t understand or aren’t ready for. Take control of your own dental health. Call us today to set up an appointment, and let us show you what fantastic dental care looks like!
