The Planning Process
We’ll first gather some information to make sure you’re a good candidate for this focusd procedure. Dr. Ron, who has received extensive special training for implant procedures, will use his state-of-the art Galileos 3D CAT Scan to get an accurate picture of your mouth and jaw. You won’t have to go anywhere else for the tests you need to move forward with your smile solution—we are a convenient one-stop shop for your preparation!
This initial appointment will also provide you with the opportunity to find out everything you want to know about the procedure.
Based on your information from our diagnostic tests and exam, we’ll start to plan your new smile and then perform the procedure for your implants.
The Placement Process
First, we’ll give you the option of sedation. If you would like to sleep through the procedure, Dr. Receveur is certified to provide you with sedation so that you’ll feel nothing and will simply wake up with a new smile!
Next, Dr. Receveur will carefully place the titanium implants in your gums. It will take about two or three months for your jaw to fuse with the implants so that they become like a natural part of your mouth. This fusion process allows the implants to be a strong solution for restoring the biting and chewing functions that you’d have with healthy, natural teeth.
After the implants are placed, you will receive a temporary set of teeth so that you can walk out of our office with a new smile! You’ll wear this set of teeth until your implants have completed the 2-3 month integration process, and then you’ll come back for Dr. Receveur to place your permanent set of teeth, created in our lab just for you.
Will it Hurt?
We don’t want your new smile to be a painful transformation! We can provide IV sedation for you so that you remain asleep and won’t feel any pain. Even if you choose to stay awake, you will still feel minimal pain because our staff is experienced in this procedure and will make you feel comfortable while we complete the job with the highest level of care.
